Microsoft Access - Retrieve The Current Username (Access 97/2000/2002/2003)

If a database incorporates user-level security, you can easily retrieve the name of the user that's logged into the current instance of the database. To do so, use the CurrentUser() function. For example, set a control's Control Source property to:

  • CurrentUser()

To display the username. Or you might use it to retrieve records that have been flagged with usernames by incorporating CurrentUser() into a query's criteria expression.
