Macromedia - Three Ways To Edit Symbols In Flash (5/MX)
There are three ways you can edit symbols in Flash.
- First, you can edit the symbol where Flash placed it by selecting it and choosing Edit > Edit In Place. This is your best bet for making minor changes in your symbol design.
- Your next option is to edit the symbol in a separate window by right-clicking ([control]-clicking on the Mac), and choosing Edit in New Window from the shortcut menu. This is useful if you want to avoid the clutter of your main Flash movie.
- Finally, you can edit your symbol in symbol-editing mode by selecting it on the Stage and choosing Edit > Edit Symbols. This is your best choice for editing interactive elements such as buttons or navigation bars.
